The weather is always perfect in Cabo San Lucas. Spring has sprung and the vacationers are still arriving each day to enjoy the 80 degree days and the 65 degree nights. Most of the college students are back in school, but we still have many families arriving to the beautiful Baja region. Its always a great time to visit Cabo San Lucas.
Deep sea fishing is in full swing with several tournaments coming up. Starting June 6-8 is the Annual Pelagic Triple Crown Fishing Tournament. Lots of big money for the winning catches! Most of the tournaments are centered near the Los Cabos city and the less populated area of the East Cape. The Cabo Summer Slam, otherwise known as Pelagic Triple Crown of Fishing is very poplar. This Newport Beach, California company is a big leader in sporting apparel and that works well with watersports, such as boating, diving, fishing and surfing. This year over $200,000 is projected to be on the line for the 6th annual tournament in June. The next biggest tournament in Cabo San Lucas will be in October. Last year the winning team won by catching 25 marlin over two days of competition!
June 27-30 is the 23rd Annual Stars and Stripes Golf and Fishing Tournament. This fishing tournament has raised over 26 million dollars for youth charities. This tournament is more than a charity benefit. Actually, is a full lifestyle occurrence.
Contestants stay at the beautiful Hilton Los Cabos and fish for dorado, wahoo, tuna, swordfish and marlin. Plus, enjoying the evening activities and live entertainment.
One of the largest fishing tournaments in the Baja is the 15th Annual East Cape Dorado Shootout July 20! With the average turn out of 130 teams, it is know as one of the largest fishing tournament in Southern Baja. The grand prize is a newly loaded 2019 Volkswagen Amarok pickup truck!! And all you have to do is catch the largest dorado on July 20, and you hit the JACKPOT!!! Later, after the tournament there will be an award ceremony, including dinner, music and $30,000 in a raffle to be given away. Hey, anyone can win, maybe that’s you!!
Another scheduled tournament is the 20th Annual Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore, August 1-4. The East Cape Offshore tournament is the first of 3 Bisbee’s tournaments. The first tournament is the ECO starting August 1st. Lots of cash prizes are awarded to the top three qualifiers in tuna, dorado and marlin categories. Entry for the event is $1500 per team.
August 24th is the 3rd Annual East Cape Gold Cup Wahoo Jackpot Tournament. This tournament is comparable to the East Cape Dorado Shootout with the opportunity to win a new 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV. Also, another lure… is $100,000 in prizes and cash. Someone will leave with over $100,000 in prizes, it might be YOU. The entry fee is $500 per team.
